Several airlines begin to cancel flights to Tel Aviv due to the clashes between Hamas and Israel

MADRID, 9 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) claimed this Sunday to have attacked the Ben Gurion International Airport, which is located in the city of Lod, southeast of Tel Aviv, within the framework of the offensive launched this weekend against Israeli territory. .

"The Al Qassam Brigades - the military wing of Hamas - have attacked the Zionist Ben Gurion Airport with a barrage of missiles in response to continued crimes and attacks against civilian homes," reads a statement from the group on its Telegram account.

However, Israeli authorities have not yet commented on the attack, although hours earlier several airlines began canceling flights to Tel Aviv due to ongoing clashes between Hamas and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

On the other hand, the brigades have indicated that they have launched "a major attack" against the city of Ashkelon, in southern Israel, with 100 rockets, according to the armed wing.

The Israeli news portal Ynet has indicated that Israel Firefighters are carrying out searches in some residential buildings that have been damaged to rule out the presence of trapped people.
