These eco-friendly connectors are available for immediate order through its dealer network.
With decades of experience in connectivity solutions, HUBER SUHNER's SMA interface is widely recognized and has been used in communications, defense, aviation, test and measurement and other industrial applications. His engineers have now devised a lead-free solution for connectors that can offer the same levels of electrical performance as conventional connectors. The mechanical properties are also maintained at an equally high level, especially with regard to coupling forces, and the amount of guaranteed coupling is not compromised. They have a broadband frequency range of up to 18 GHz, have excellent return loss, high mechanical resistance and are compatible with PC3.5 and SK.
Lead is added to alloys to improve their machinability, acting as a lubricant and chip breaker. If handled improperly and without limits, it can have detrimental effects on human health and the ecology. For this reason, there are already European legislative standards to restrict its use and release, in products and in the environment. These include the EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU), which deals with the restriction of hazardous substances, and the REACH Directive (EC) No 1907/2006, which deals with substances. The latter has included lead as a "substance of very high concern" (SVHC).
