Target of Palmer drug raid surrenders to Easton police

The man Easton police sought early Thursday in a drug raid in Palmer Township surrendered hours later at the Dowtown police station.

Samuel Luciano, 33, of the 600 block of Oakwood Street, will be arraigned later in the day before District Judge Antonia Grifo on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin and criminal use of a cellphone, police Lt. Matthew Gerould said.

Easton police early in the morning of Feb. 2, 2017, served a search warrant at Apartment C 610 Oakwood St. in Palmer Township. The residence was then searched. (Tony Rhodin | For lehighvalleylive.com)

Authorities arranged Luciano's surrender, Gerould said.

He was charged after selling heroin in January to a confidential informant in Downtown Easton, according to court records.

About $1,000 in marijuana and packing consistent with the sale and distribution of heroin were recovered from Luciano's apartment after the city's Special Response and Vice units entered just after 6 a.m. to serve arrest and search warrants, Gerould said.

Alleged heroin dealer isn't home in raid

Luciano also has a drunken-driving case pending in Northampton County Court, records show.
