The Spanish Consumer Association regrets that the Iberia strike will harm those who travel in Reyes

MADRID, 30 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish Consumer Association (Asescon) has regretted that the Iberia staff strike will harm those who were going to travel in Reyes.

"Once again consumers are affected by labor conflicts on key dates," the association criticized in a statement in relation to the Iberia workers' strike.

The company announced yesterday the cancellation of 444 flights as a result of the strike called by the unions of the ground handling company for passengers and luggage for January 5, 6, 7 and 8, which, according to Asescon, "will to tremendously complicate the Three Kings holiday and the return of thousands of people to their places of work or residence after Christmas.

Linked to this, the airline has announced that in the coming days travelers will be informed of the possibilities of relocation on other flights, a procedure that the association has urged to be done with "maximum diligence" given the damage caused.

In addition, this labor conflict has been joined by the call for a strike by the workers of the platform control towers at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport from December 31 to January 7.

In this regard, Asescon has argued that, even though they are respectful of the right to strike, they do not like that consumers are affected by a labor dispute in a period of massive transfers by citizens.
