Upper Nazareth Township supervisor Robert Disbrow has announced he is running to keep his seat this year.

He was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Steve Ytkin's resignation in September.

"Since that appointment, I have been part of several critical votes including most recently the hiring of a new police chief," he said in a news release Wednesday.

He said he wants to preserves the township's rural nature and manages growth in responsibly.

He advocates for a strong police department, efficient public works department, responsible spending and a low local tax rate.

He and his wife of 17 years, Erin, have lived in the township since October 2014. He lived in Nazareth for 12 years before that. They have four sons.

He graduated from Freedom High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. He's worked for Verizon Wireless since 2000.

Disbrow is a registered Republican.
