The Virage Bayshore will be a 24-story, 71-unit tower with views of Hillsborough Bay and the downtown Tampa skyline. The site at 3401 Bayshore Blvd. is considered the last unclaimed parcel on Bayshore Boulevard zoned to be a high-rise tower, according to a press release.
In April, the Colonnade restaurant closed after 80 years in business when the property was purchased for $6.2 million by Virage Bayshore developers, a joint venture between Sarasota-based Ascentia Development Group and Batson-Cook Development Co.

Penthouse residences are 6,900 square feet and offer panoramic views of Hillsborough Bay. Other residences will range in size from 2,400 square feet to 4,500 square feet and offer floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies. Every unit has a private elevator entrance, 10-foot ceilings and access to resort-style amenities like an infinity-edge pool overlooking Bayshore, state-of-the-art wellness center, pet grooming facilities, and 24-hour staffed reception.
Residents will also have 24-hour concierge service, a private dining room and private parking. A shared club room, fitness center, infinity pool, sun deck and gardens are included in the plans.
Virage Bayshore is aimed at empty nesters who want to enjoy the active, urban lifestyle in South Tampa along Bayshore Boulevard. Tampa developers agree that there is a pent-up demand for quality residences along the scenic strip near downtown Tampa.
The cost to build the tower was not disclosed.
