ALLENTOWN RESCUE MISSION has an immediate need for volunteers to make its annual gala event happen. If you love planning events, help is needed with silent and live auction, set up and decorations, greeting and registration, and centerpiece committees. Gala committee meetings are being held weekly. LEHIGH VALLEY SCORE, LCCC, North Whitehall Township, is seeking experienced business people to provide free business counseling and advice in all areas of business management (i.e. business plans, managing cash flow, marketing, etc. ). LILY'S HOPE FOUNDATION, Quakertown, needs volunteers to contact local businesses for gift certificates and items for raffle baskets for its silent auction. Volunteers also needed on March 4 for fundraiser at McCoole's Restaurant, Quakertown. Help set up raffle tables, decorations and seating. This is a family friendly, semi-formal event with cocktails, dinner, dancing, silent auction, kids crafts, photo booth, and DJ-Octave. MEALS ON WHEELS OF LEHIGH COUNTY, Allentown needs volunteers (18+ years) to do grocery shopping for home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities in an area of Lehigh County that works best for you. Flexible scheduling based on client's needs (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). A 40-minute orientation is required. Orientations scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 17 1 p.m. Feb. 20 of 6:30 p.m. March 1. NORTHEAST MINISTRY, Bethlehem, needs volunteers to assist with the facilitation of its older youth program. This program meets one evening per month, generally on a Thursday, from 5:30-7 p.m. (Feb. 16 and March 16). The program offers a positive, supervised venue for youth in grades 9-12 to socialize, learn new skills (resume writing, how to apply for college, and much more). SHARECARE FAITH IN ACTION, Bethlehem, is looking for volunteer drivers (18+ years) to help safely transport people who are elderly and/or disabled to and from doctor appointments and with grocery shopping in the Lehigh Valley. Volunteers are also needed to help others who can't get out on their own through visitation, socializing, and taking them out of their home environment.
