WisdomTree sees gold rise 15% in 2023 to $1,910

MADRID, 23 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The provider of funds and listed products WisdomTree contemplates in its base scenario a 15% rise in the price of gold, reaching 1,910 dollars (1,966 euros) for the third quarter of next year, according to its macroeconomic forecast report.

The firm anticipates a slowdown in the rate of appreciation of the greenback and bond yields, which would lead to that rise in the price of the precious metal. This week, the ounce of gold has traded around 1,620 dollars (1,668 euros).

WisdomTree explained that many analysts have expressed disappointment that gold has not seen as big of a rally as it has in previous periods of high inflation due to the strong US dollar and widespread bond selling.

However, gold "seems to hold its value much better than historical relationships would indicate" in both cases, he explains in his report.

"Dollar strength, like the one we are experiencing today, is rarely associated with gold price strength, even in times of high inflation," he said.
