The insolvent airline Air Berlin begins talks about a social plan for employees who have to reckon with redundancy. Negotiations with easyjet threaten to fail

The aim is to finalise necessary negotiations in October. A spokesman for airline did not want to comment on this.

The Ver. Di union called on Air Berlin to make clear wher and how many employees should be dismissed by end of month. "It is outrageous to sit out such an important topic over weekend and remaining! We expect an unequivocal opinion, "said federal vorstandsmitglied Christine Behle. For negotiations on social plan, Ver. Di demanded a clear commitment to establishment of a transfer company. The second largest German airline with more than 8,000 employees had been declared bankrupt in mid-August.
