The winning work of the 22-year-old young woman from Barcelona, which was born as an end-of-year project, wins this award, endowed with 1,500 euros and with the creation of the children's illustrated album published by Cruïlla, which will be presented in the autumn.
In search of peace, love and harmony in illustrated works
This award has the firm objective of stimulating in young cartoonists the pleasure of creation through works that reflect universal values of peace, love, harmony and respect, in addition to commemorating the figure of Antònia Cortijos, vice president of the Jordi Sierra i Foundation. Fabra died in 2022. She was a painter, illustrator and writer, “a multimedia artist, because she did everything throughout her life,” is how her husband Jordi Sierra i Fabra defines her.
To qualify for the Antònia Cortijos Illustration Prize, the illustrations, whether free-themed or an adaptation of an existing story or legend, must be aimed at a children's audience between 0 and twelve years old, in addition to transmitting aesthetic, ethical and humans.
In this first edition, Irene Tur Fleta, from Barcelona, was the first finalist at just 17 years old, with El somni de la Holly, "an excellent work of manga and fantasy inspiration." For his part, Alex Álvarez Aranda, from Sant Vicens dels Horts, Barcelona, completed the podium with Junk, an ecological story.
Ariadna Altimira de los Reyes

He studied at the Ferrer i Abella academy in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat and completed his artistic baccalaureate, with a higher degree in animation and illustration. She is self-taught, she has drawn since she was very little.
Jordi Sierra i Fabra Foundation
The Jordi Sierra i Fabra Foundation aims to promote culture and the arts in general, especially aid to young artists, writers in the Catalan or Spanish language, illustrators, audiovisual creators and plastic arts.
