Billing with Aiwanger

Alexander Muthmann can speak freely. How much percent will free voters (FW) get at Landtag election 2018? Muthmann looks skeptical, as one who observes an almost impossible endeavor, he purses lips, weighs his head. Five, maybe six percent or less, he says. Until recently he would have talked his party badly, now he is speaking as a competitor.

Muthmann was out of FW group on Tuesday, and on Wednesday he made a request for admission to FDP. He maintains his mandate in Landtag and is only FDP member re. The fact that his party was able to get back to Maximilianeum so quickly would not have thought of FDP country chief Albert Duin eir.

"I wish everyone a lot of fun if he wants to take over my stint" Hubert Aiwanger is controversial in his party-too own, too loud, to right, finds some. So will free voters soon rehearse uprising? By Lisa more quickly...

Even more than his pink tie, he radiates himself. Although Duin would like to intoned this differently: it is probably less attraction of FDP, which motivated Muthmann to leave, than disappointment of free voters.

A party for which he has been making politics since 2002. For six years he represented her interests as district administrator of Freyung-Grafenau, nine years he sat for her in Landtag, was a member of Committee on Budgets, even a member of board. In Bundestag group, he was regarded as a service carrier. The FW but, as Muthmann understands it, re is no longer for him, especially not under FW chief Hubert Aiwanger. His role was "authoritative" for his exit, says Muthmann, who, with Aiwanger, combines a long-lasting inner-Bavarian aversion.

Already in June he had announced that he would no longer run for FW because Aiwangers statements in refugee policy were too close to AfD. It is precisely here that a factual key is asked, says Muthmann. Aiwanger, however, have stoked fears.

In addition, re is accumulation of offices at Aiwanger, which is also a group, state and federal chairman. In or parties, when one blows over strands, re is always one who breaks peaks. At FW, however, re is only Aiwanger. The fact that re are many free voters in group and, above all, in municipalities, which represent a more moderate course in refugee policy, insist hardly goes through, says Muthmann. But that's not all.

In or areas too, Aiwangers dominant embossing has harmed free voters. "We remain too much in stock," says Muthmann, without realizing that he does not belong to "we" anymore. For example in agriculture, where farmers must be helped to prepare for future. "Always only defending what we know is certainly too little."

or in environmental and nature conservation, Muthmann does not find anything future-oriented. He could no longer recognize civil dialogue, for him a principle of free voters. As an example he leads third National Park, which Aiwanger from Munich has declared to be vicious stuff, without being come into population.

fighter against right jerk The Landtag member Alexander Muthmann of free voters does not want to compete for AfD sympathizers for 2018-and criticizes FW chief Aiwanger sharply for his course. By Lisa more quickly...

Aiwanger itself is rar unmoved by Muthmanns exit. A surprise was not it, says FW chief, rar a "relief". "Now we know what we are, and we can work freely forward." No one has yet reported to him, regretting Muthmanns decision. It is good things that content is now in foreground again.

In recent times, free voters have fallen rar differently. There was, for example, trouble with Günr Felbinger, whom prosecutor accused of accusing Landtag of a high sum by sham contracts. Aiwanger consistently stood behind him. Not only Muthmann had disturbed gentle line of boss. It is refore not said that by its exit operating climate in group will improve again, as Aiwanger expects.

"I can understand him well," says a group member who sees a great loss in Muthmanns departure. His critique is quite shared by some. In addition to discussion of who is to follow him in his offices, criticism of Aiwanger must also be an issue next week. Ors see exit as decision of an individual.

"They are all welcome"

"It will not affect group," says General secretary Michael Piazolo. He also asks wher it was Muthmann good style to have his vote in early summer as a FW-circle chairman, and n to resign. "A bit unfortunate" calls Muthmann. He has not yet known that his new homeland will be FDP. But now he's convinced that it's a good fit.

Really? Muthmann has been fighting for years for a country development in which all regions have same opportunities. The FDP, however, was not fan of country's development during its coalition with CSU. A few fine votes, of course, says Muthmann, but direction is voice.

At FDP, you are at least happy. After four years in non-parliamentary opposition, political experience here is rar scarce. Now, one of "most recognized budget politicians in Landtag" falls into ir lap, as Detlev Werner, head of Lower Bavaria-FDP says. Duin is sure to have more changes. There are already talks. "They are all welcome," he lures.

After election FDP in Bavaria will remain only veteran Liberals want to be fresher and more dynamic. But when boys go to Berlin, it is difficult in Bavaria to sell mselves as modern and hip. By Lisa more quickly...
