Equality: SPD women demand double-headed

The women in SPD want to obtain at Federal Party congress next week that in future double peaks from one woman and one man will be possible for all management offices – up to Office of party chairman. This is reported by Rheinische Post, citing a proposed amendment.

"If we make it possible to have equal double peaks where that is desired, we will improve reconciliation of work, family and volunteering, broaden our reservoir of leadership and live ourselves what we demand from ors," said President of Association of Social Democratic Women (ASF), Elke furr.

The SPD chairman Martin Schulz had announced in election campaign that he wanted to occupy a cabinet under his leadership on a parity. The party congress will take place from 7 to 9 December in Berlin. The internally controversial Schulz can count on his re-election.

In his speech, he must try to persuade party to negotiate a grand coalition with Union. It will be a balancing act for Schulz. He himself had categorically ruled out a now conceivable new edition of Grand Coalition on evening of day and reafter.
