ANKARA, Turkey, Feb. 16, 2023/PRNewswire/ -- XCMG Machinery (SHE:000425, "XCMG") is working around the clock to provide emergency relief to Turkey after two earthquakes rocked the region on February 6, the largest earthquakes in Turkey since 1939.

The XCMG Turkey company is headquartered in Ankara, the country's capital, 700 kilometers from the epicenter. Immediately after the earthquake, he set up an emergency rescue group led by Liu Jiansen, Vice President of XCMG Machinery and General Manager of XCMG Import.

XCMG has approximately 600 excavator units in Turkey, and XCMG Turkey activated its emergency response protocol immediately and reported the local situation to XCMG headquarters, while coordinating three XCMG excavators deployed near Gaziantep to assist in the disaster zone.

XCMG Turkey contacted multiple parties and arranged 12 units of excavators and loaders of different tonnages nearby to stand by, while actively responding to the call from the Chinese Embassy in Turkey and the General Chamber of Business Commerce Chinas in Turkey (the "Chamber") to coordinate resources and provide assistance.

On February 7, a family of three was trapped in a collapsed three-story building in Iskenderun, Hatay province. XCMG immediately sent an excavator for the rescue mission, in eight hours non-stop, the operator Kerim Cesur removed the collapsed floor, bricks and rebar with caution and successfully saved the family.

On February 8, a rescue team from XCMG traveled 20 hours to Kırıkhan, Hatay, one of the most remote regions where roads were seriously damaged by the earthquake, with freezing rain at low temperatures. Operator Nevrez Ünsal saved two residents trapped in two collapsed buildings.

On the same day, XCMG operatives TALİP ÖZTÜRK and Emre Öztürk, who are father and son, came to Gölbaşı, Adiyaman as first responders and worked more than 10 hours to save a child from the ruins.

Within five hours after the first earthquake, XCMG purchased the first batch of reuse supplies including blankets, baby products, hygiene products and more totaling more than 50,000 Turkish Lira and delivered them to the most affected area while worked with customers and local dealers to deploy excavators, cranes and loaders and organize operators to provide support.

"The Turkish government has requisitioned all forklifts and transport vehicles, XCMG teams have arrived in disaster areas to assist in rescues, and we are also coordinating with our customers in Turkey to bring more aid."

So far, more than 100 XCMG employees and dealers have mobilized to assist in the earthquake rescue. And as a member of the Chamber, XCMG Turkey also arranged flights, accommodation and supplies for rescue teams leaving China to assist in the earthquake relief operation.
