15 years ago, when hospice association was founded, y were seeking companions. Mechtild Reinhardt, who was at that time active in parish of Holy Spirit and a nurse of occupation, felt addressed. "As I had a lot to do with dying professionally, I thought I knew each or," she says in Office of Association in Pullach. "But n it was quite different."
Because if you serve as a nurse dying on ward, you have much more distance. "As a hospice helper, however, we are at home as a guest to people, accordingly we must also behaved," says Reinhardt, who is now coordinator of Association. This means that as a hospice helper you do not come up with a suitcase full of offers, which are almost imposed on supervised. "It is important to take back," explains Reinhardt. Hospice helpers give time, y should just listen and look to find out what person in question needs.
"In nursing home, where people are getting worse, you can often just sit re, hold your hand, brea, and feel what is doing well now. Sometimes silence, sometimes singing. " Since this task is taken over to relieve caring relatives, one is usually alone with sick. "These hours are an absolutely decelerated time," Reinhardt learned. When she started task 15 years ago, she had little children and was always on road in everyday life and constantly organizing, when she sat with tutors at bedside, time remained quasi. And it did so well in a way. While she was always in a very active role as a nurse, it was at work as a hospice helper to "simply stand out". Which is not necessarily always easy. An accompaniment could well fail, for example "because chemistry is not right", that was all already happened.
The association currently has 17 hospice assistants, who is responsible for municipalities of Pullach, Grünwald, Schäftlarn, Baierbrunn and Straßlach. Prospective students receive a training of 120 hours, once a week in evening and at three weekends. What motivation does hospice helpers actually pursue? "They have often experienced death of relatives," says Reinhardt. But it may also be that you are unsure about subject. "Most people have a very personal motivation."
