The dispute over planned construction of a spa on shores of lake is not resolved even after citizens ' decision, in which majority of lindauers voted for project. Despite positive vote of citizens, federal Nature Conservation (BN) wants to sue against construction in landscape reserve. The Lindau City Council refore decided with 19 to 10 votes to leave Covenant nature conservation.
The 34 million project, which aims to realize city toger with an investor on site of existing beach Bath Eichwald, is still being fought passionately. The members of BN in Lindau voted in an extraordinary assembly for action to be taken, because plans did not take sufficient account of nature conservation. The decision for lawsuit was also highly controversial in BN Local association: 50 members refore resigned, 36 Lindauer resigned.
A rift also runs through city council. The majority of mandate holders do not want to support bn any longer, because Court of Appeal "itself gloriously" ignores citizens ' will and voted for exit of city from association. The fact that Therme will remain a contention in seabed is foreseeable. And not just because of nature conservation. According to original estimate, construction costs increased by six million euros to now 34 million in year 2014. The city bears a share of 12.5 million euros. The construction will begin in coming year. The project consists of four parts: a sports and family with an indoor pool, spa with Bath, Lido Eichwald and a sauna area. A fitness centre and a restaurant are also provided. At end of 2020 spa should be ready.
