Bilbao, March 6, 2024.- Those responsible for the BIEMH-International Machine Tool Biennial met today in Barcelona with a large group of exhibiting companies to publicize the progress of the commercial, visitor and communication campaigns, and to reinforce the existing direct line of work between the organization and exhibitors. The contest team also wanted to know the needs and objectives of the firms for this edition. The meeting was attended by specialized media, who were informed about the good situation of BIEMH and the sector, as well as about organizational and promotional aspects. Tomorrow, the delegation will visit Madrid and, on March 15, Bilbao. Mari Carmen Gorostiza, event manager of BIEMH, inaugurated the event, in which María Ruiz-Lopetedi, deputy director of AFM (Advanced Manufacturing Cluster and Digital) and Zuriñe Varona, Cristina Campo and Ana Belén Palencia, directors of Bilbao Exhibition Center in the departments of exhibitor services, visitors and communication, respectively. With 1,280 exhibiting firms confirmed so far and nearly 2,500 products and equipment, at BIEMH The large machinery in operation will once again be the protagonist. And with the confirmed presence of at least leading firms from 20 countries, an edition is anticipated at the highest level in innovation and technology, which will offer space to the main sectors: Manufacturing and distribution of machines, Robotics, Automation and Digitalization, in addition to Components, Tools and Accessories. Advanced manufacturing continues to enjoy very good health. The previous year closed with record figures, exceeding, for the first time, 2,000 million euros in machine tools and advanced manufacturing technologies: a growth of 17%. In order capture, the growth in 2023 was 12%, guaranteeing the activity of 2024 which, despite the subtle slowdown in the first quarter, is expected to recover towards the second, to consolidate in 2025. The closing of billing for 2024 is estimates will grow 5-7%. A fact that predicts a fair of excellent exhibition level in all sectors and subsectors of advanced manufacturing. The visitor promotion campaign is being carried out successfully in 141 countries, among which Mexico, the USA, Turkey, Argentina, Algeria, Germany, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, China, Slovakia, France, India, Italy, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom and Czech Republic. This year, in addition, the Hosted Buyers' Program will return to BIEMH. This is an initiative that collects exhibitor requests, ensuring the presence of hundreds of strategic professionals. BIEMH has a solid network of alliances and works with the main associations in the user sector and with key players in the industry. To date, the response has been very positive: they have shown great interest in visiting the fair and taking advantage of the investment possibilities it offers.
