Two family businesses with a long baking tradition join forces
AMSTELVEEN, Netherlands, Feb. 6, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Dawn Foods, a global bakery products manufacturer and ingredients supplier, proudly announces the acquisition of Royal Steensma, a renowned family-owned bakery ingredients manufacturer based in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
Royal Steensma has a broad portfolio of bakery products and specializes in fat-based toppings (Souplesse), almond pastes and confectionery, bakery mixes, fruit fillings, as well as infused and candied fruits and decorations. Royal Steensma has been a leader in the bakery market for almost 185 years.
The acquisition includes four manufacturing plants in the Netherlands, one manufacturing plant in Thailand and continued participation in the Food Innovation Academy (FIA) educational center in the Netherlands. Additionally, all Royal Steensma employees are now valued members of the Dawn team.
