BARCELONA, Spain, June 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Gallup's annual report on the State of Work in Spain in 2023 reveals data on work engagement, stress and the work climate in the country. According to the study, 20% of Spanish employees say they feel angry on a daily basis at work, well above the European average of 14%. This data places Spain as the tenth country in Europe that feels the most anger at work.

The results of the survey also highlight that only 10% of employees in Spain consider themselves "committed" to their work, which places Spain as the fourth country with the lowest work commitment in Europe. These data reflect a worrying situation, since work commitment is a key factor for the well-being and performance of workers.

Daily stress continues to be a concern for the Spanish active population, since 36% of those surveyed confirm that they feel stress on a daily basis. Although this figure has decreased by 8% compared to the previous year, Spain is ranked 22nd among the most stressed countries in Europe, and below the European average (39%).

Low expectation of finding a better job The working climate in Spain also presents challenges, since only 26% of those surveyed consider that it is a good time to find a job. This number has decreased by

1% since last year and places Spain in 36th place out of 38 countries. This indicates that there is low hope of finding a better job, which could be a possible cause of stress for employees. Pablo Diego Rosell, Senior Business Solutions Consultant in Spain at Gallup believes that, "Spain has a fairly centralized and hierarchical management style and there are fewer opportunities for discussion, employee participation and engagement than in other countries. MethodologyGallup surveys 1,000 people in each country through a series of standard questions adapted to each country. In some countries, Gallup collects additional samples in major cities or areas of special interest. Also, in some large countries, such as Russia, sample sizes include at least 2,000 adults. In a small number of countries, the sample size is less than 1,000. In this report, Gallup does not provide country-level data or percentage change data over the past three years for any countries with a sample size of less than 300. However, results for countries with a sample size of more than 300 during the collection Data for the 2022 global survey are included in the national and global results.

Throughout 2009 and 2022, 2,208,292 employees have been surveyed. For this latest study in 2022, 122,416 employees were surveyed worldwide, 18,262 of whom were Europeans.
