New York City residents continue to fall in love with the rich blend of immigrant food available in all precincts — especially from Mexico, as evidenced by the continued growth of the tequila bar and taqueria trends.

Camacho’s, a tequila bar and taqueria, is slated to open next month at 118A E. 15th St.

The restaurant is named after executive chef Fernando Camacho, an immigrant from Mexico, who started working for restaurateur Michael Sinensky in 2009 as a dishwasher.

Camacho then became executive chef at SideBar and will now helm his eponymous restaurant.

Camacho’s will serve more than 100 tequilas and mescals, along with traditional Mexican street fare. The 1,500-square-foot space — formerly Little Town NY — will have 74 seats.

The decor will feature sugar skulls on the walls, street art murals, red chandeliers and swing seating.

At the same time, Sinensky, who also operates Village Pourhouse, SideBAR and Hudson Terrace, has closed his Tres Carnes flagship in the Flatiron district, citing rising rent, labor costs and “heightened red tape.”
