Bateau, Seattle: Both Eater and Bon Appetit lists

This Capitol Hill eatery by the venerable Renee Erickson has become a trendy hotspot -- check it out, if you can handle the sight of animal corpses hanging within view of the dining room.

Bill Addison wrote in Eater that the nose-to-tail steakhouse is "genius" and recommends the Reuben mille feuille.

Bon Appetit groups Bateau with Erickson's other new ventures, Bar Mesuline and General Poirpoise doughnuts.

Little Uncle, Seattle: Bon Appetit

This Thai-inspired spot offers catering in addition to in-house eats and a takeout window down the block.

Says Bon Appetit: "Little Uncle’s raison d’être might be its noodle dishes, whether that’s the famous pad thai, served with peanuts, roasted chiles, and sugar on the side (and thankfully free of treacly sauces), or the incomparable khao soi, so intensely flavorful you’ll want to drink every last sip of the rich, complex coconut-milk broth."
