3 teens shot in Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Three teenagers were shot Monday night in Cleveland's Glenville neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened about 8 p.m. near the intersection of Ostend Avenue and East 105th Street, behind Glenville Gas and Market, Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said.

Two 14-year-old girls and one 17-year-old boy were struck by gunfire, Ciaccia said. The girls were taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for treatment, while the boy was taken to University Hospitals.

Their current conditions are unknown.

Investigators learned from witnesses that the shots were fired from a silver, mid-sized car that has dark-tinted windows, Ciaccia said. Neither the vehicle's mark nor model have been confirmed.

By about 9:15 p.m., a Cleveland police crime scene investigator had marked eight shell casings that trailed southbound on East 105th Street. The gas station and market remain open for business, though traffic continues to be diverted around the shooting scene.

East 105th Street remains closed between Somerset Avenue and North Boulevard as of 9:30 p.m. Ostend Avenue is also closed while authorities continue their investigation.

This post will be updated if more details about the shooting are released Monday night.
