BEDFORD, Ohio -- The Rev. Daniel L. Begin has passed away after battling a lengthy illness.

Begin died Saturday morning, Diocese of Cleveland spokesman Bob Tayek said.

Begin, a native of Cleveland, was the pastor of St. Mary Church and Our Lady of Hope in Bedford, Tayek said.

He was ordained in 1975.

Begin's brother, retired Rev. Robert Begin, was ordained in 1964.
