Cops search for band of thieves terrorizing Queens neighborhoods

A band of thieves have been terrorizing residents of two Queens neighborhoods, robbing at least 19 people since December, authorities said.

In all of the incidents, two or three suspects target men who are walking alone through Jackson Heights and Corona late at night or early in the morning and beat them up before taking their stuff, according to police.

The victims range in age from 24 to 51, police said.

The robbery spree began on Dec. 28 when the suspects jumped a 28-year-old man near the corner of Junction Boulevard and 40th Road around 4:30 a.m.

During the most recent incident on Feb. 6, the group attacked a 51-year-old man near Cornish Avenue and Broadway.

All of the suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s or 30s.
