BRUNSWICK ---  Open container, Pearl Road: Police responded to a report of a man drinking beer in a parking lot at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 1. The man was located parked in a disabled parking space. He said he was doing laundry in the laundromat over the past hour and reports said he "had a wet spot on the front of his jeans, had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person, and had trouble keeping balance." Two 12-ounce cans of Milwaukee Best Ice beer were found in the center console of the car and the man registered a .267 blood-alcohol content - more than three times the legal limit - on a portable breath test. He was cited for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and illegal use of a disabled parking space and was taken to the police station to await a ride home.

Drunken driver, N. Carpenter Road: A driver was pulled over at 12:04 a.m. Feb. 3 for traveling 56 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. The officer smelled the odor of alcohol on the driver, who later failed field sobriety tests and a breath test. He was cited and released.

Drunken driver/crash, Pearl Road: Employees at Christie's Cabaret called police at 9:43 p.m. Feb. 3 to report that a parked vehicle had been struck by another vehicle and that the driver may be under the influence of alcohol. Police contacted the driver, who had hit the other car while pulling into the parking lot. The suspect refused to perform field sobriety tests, but later failed a breath test. He was cited and released to a sober person.

Failure to control/OVI, Laurel Road: Police responded to a reported crash with injuries at the intersection of Laurel and Pearl roads at 11:39 p.m. Feb. 2. The driver reportedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking. She was taken to Southwest ER in Brunswick and provided a urine sample to police. She was later cited for operating a motor vehicle while impaired and failure to control.
