CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - You can celebrate St. Patrick's Day and contribute to local live theater, to boot, 6 p.m. March 17 with an evening of Irish songs, sing-a-longs, stories, food and, of course, drinks. Entertainer Jake Boland, of Auburn Township, will spin a few yarns of Irish tales woven with historical facts and songs about the Emerald Isle at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre.

The evening begins 6 p.m. with Irish-themed appetizers and a beer and wine cash bar. Boland performs on stage at 7 p.m., and the bar will be open afterward along with a dessert and coffee bar. Boland, who has performed at other Northeast Ohio venues, is donating his talent to the theater as a fundraiser.

The ticket price is $25 per person. The theater, which has just completed a major renovation, is located at 40 River St. in Chagrin Falls. Tax-deductible contributions can also be made to the theater. Contact cvlt.org or 440-247-8955.

Improv Group Is Ready to March on: Also, showing at the theater in March is the River Side Valley Players, with "RSVP Marches On," which will be on stage 8 p.m. March 10 and 11 at the Riverstreet Playhouse, 56 River St.

Led by Tracy Cubbal, the group of improvisational actors performs live, unscripted theater with prompting from the audience. Characters, plotlines and dialogue are developed on the spot for spontaneous fun. Tickets are $10. Due to the unpredictable nature of the performances, the show is recommended for adults.
