'The Walking Dead': Who is Jadis, queen of the junkyard?

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Every group on "The Walking Dead" has a leader, including the new junkyard crew that made its official introduction during Sunday's episode "New Best Friends."

As we saw during the Season 7 midseason premiere, the junkyard group forced Father Gabriel to raid the Safe-Zone's supplies. They then got the drop on Rick's group and brought them back to the junkyard.

This new group can best be classified as post-apocalyptic parasites in human form. They take whatever they can get their hands on. But they're not like the Saviors, in that they don't interact and force conflicts with groups. They're simply in it for the supplies and then they get out.

The junkyard peeps came across Rick's group when he and Aaron found the supplies in the boathouse (a place the junkyard group was too scared to go). That leader's name is Jadis and she's stone cold. Though, there is a certain charm to her and that "Mad Max" style haircut.

Jadis doesn't waver in front of Rick. Nor does she seem intimidated by the fact that Rick is very capable (It helps that the junkyard group is made up of hundreds of people).

Jadis is the product of a casting call that leaked earlier this season, calling for a strong potentially female leader that many assumed could be Alpha, the leader of The Whisperers in the comic book.

Instead, we get a completely new group that doesn't exist in "The Walking Dead" universe, written or televised. Rick manages to prove himself by taking out Winslow, the spiked walker in the junkyard pit and make a deal to exchange guns (which he'll have to find) in exchange for the junkyard group joining the battle against the Saviors.

We still don't know if we can trust Jadis (again, that haircut) and her group. After all, they did put Rick's life at risk and seem to lack compassion for anything. But Rick has no choice at this point but to align himself with whomever he can.
