Woman, 82, assaulted in her Cleveland home, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- An 82-year-old woman was hospitalized Sunday night after someone broke into her home on the city's East Side, police say.

The break-in occurred at about 8 p.m. on the 17000 block of Tarkington Avenue, located east of Lee Road between South Miles Road and Interstate 480.

Police released few details early Monday morning, saying the woman was transported to Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights. Her condition was not released.

The incident is being investigated as an aggravated robbery and kidnapping, police say.
