Occupancy in Spain for the May long weekend stands at 82%, with 14 autonomous communities above the national average, while Andalusia, the Canary Islands and the Valencian Community are the most requested destinations due to the number of searches.

This is revealed by a ranking prepared by Vacaciones-España, in collaboration with the rental platform Holidu, highlighting Aragón as the community that tops the list by registering an occupancy rate of 91%.

Closely followed by the Community of Madrid, with 90.9%, Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha, which also show strong demand, with an occupancy rate of 90.5% both, while Catalonia completes the 'top 5' , with 89.4%.

The high occupancy coincides with the results of the latest survey carried out by Holidu of 2,863 holiday home owners. According to these data, 71% of Spanish owners anticipate receiving more reservations than last year, while 24% expect similar numbers to those of the previous season.

As for the cheapest destinations for the May long weekend, Galicia, the Region of Murcia and the Canary Islands are the autonomous communities with the cheapest prices to travel. Thus, the first two have an average price per night of 106 euros and the islands register a cost of 108 euros.

Furthermore, Asturias and Extremadura are in the medium range, with prices of 111 and 114 euros, respectively. Completing the 'top 10' are Cantabria (120 euros), Valencian Community (125 euros), Aragón (127 euros), La Rioja (129 euros) and Castilla y León (133 euros).
