The Chamber has approved on Thursday in plenary session a proposal for a bill submitted by the ecologists, in collaboration with the two socialist parties, the MR and the CD&V – and to preserve the rest of confinement of fifteen weeks of pregnant women. The text was adopted with 96 votes in favour, 41 against and 9 abstentions.

The proposed law, filed by the deputies Evita Willaert (Groen) and Mary-Hill, Leroy (Ecolo), makes it possible to assimilate the temporary unemployment of labour and so as not to penalize the mothers in their prenatal leave.
