One man shot six foreigners in the Italian Macerata, one of them was seriously injured. A suspect was arrested. He's supposed to be right-wing extremist.

With shots from a driving car, a man in middle Italian Macerata has injured six people. One of victims suffered lethal injuries, said Mayor Romano Carancini to channel Sky TG24. Police figures are five men and one woman. They were all black and came from abroad.

In centre of 42,000-inhabitants-city in Marche region, police later arrested a suspect. The officers found him a pistol. According to media reports, it is 28-year-old Luca T., who was a candidate for racist Lega Nord at 2017 municipal elections. According to reports, T. has stood deed. After shots, he made a fascist salute to a war memorial in city and shouted "Viva Italia!".

The authorities initially did not establish a link to a crime that had recently taken headlines nationwide. In Macerata this week a young woman was killed in a cruel way. The body parts were found in two suitcases. The main suspect is a Nigerian immigrant.

Xenophobia is campaign issue
