Many young politicians complain about sexism and sexual harassment in ir parties. This is reported by The Huffington Post. According to its own information, portal has evaluated responses from 95 politicians from five largest youth organisations.

The HuffPost has thus sent a questionnaire to around 250 women from young Union, Jusos, Young Liberals, left-wing youth and green Youth, and feedback could be made anonymously. The HuffPost also conducted 20 personal interviews. According to report, every third woman has been sexually harassed as part of her political work.

Some women reported HuffPost of rape. A politician who wanted to remain anonymous wrote: I was raped at a political weekend. It is hard to talk about things as a woman against a man, because you lose sight so quickly, especially when man is raised. " According to reports, such incidents rarely have consequences, writes HuffPost.

"I am often ridiculed"

According to HuffPost, many young politicians also have impression that y are not being taken seriously. More than 70 percent of women who filled out questionnaire indicated that y sometimes felt that ir male counterparts were taken more seriously than y did. Almost half of women also feel that ir ambitions would be ridiculed.

The deputy provincial chairman of Jusos in Saarland, Kristin Brück, told HuffPost: "I am often ridiculed as a young woman, referred to as ' girl ', and I am always told by older men that I should listen to m."
