The violence against refugees is decreasing according to the federal office. In relation to the population, the majority of the acts are in Brandenburg after a census of pro-asylum.

The number of incidents of violence against refugees is declining. According to a census of Amadeu Antonio Foundation and per asylum, however, re is a particularly high number of incidents in eastern Germany, measured by population. At top was 2017 Brandenburg with 85 cases per million inhabitants. It is followed by Saxony with 61 attacks, n Saxony-Anhalt (55).

This is followed by Berlin (52), Thuringia (47) and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (45). Counted were fire attacks, explosive attacks, Stone throws and or violent attacks such as attack with knives, strikes or firearms and fist strokes. Added to this were swastika graffiti, or forms of incitement, furr hatred propaganda and damage to property. The countries with lowest case numbers were Hamburg (7), Nordrhein-Westfalen (5) and Bremen (3).

However, total number of offences against refugees declined significantly in current year. According to 2017, re were 1,713 incidents in Germany. For previous year, organisations had counted 3,768 anti-refugee incidents. The census is based on media reports, police press releases and reports from local and regional registries and counselling centres for victims of right, racist and Semitic violence.

The Federal Office (BKA) is also currently undergoing a marked decline in violence against refugees. According to a spokeswoman, BKA counted about 264 crimes against asylum shelters by 4 December. For full year 2016, it had been 995.

Time and time online, 2015 had researched number of attacks on refugee shelters, i.e. acts of violence – without propaganda offences such as swastika graffiti. It had been shown that in very few cases offenders were found or judged.
