It's the worst fire in New York for 25 years: at least twelve people were killed in the Bronx. The fire sparked a child playing on a stove.

New York: Child induced residential fire in the Bronx

A fire in a New York house in Bronx area killed at least twelve people. This was shared by New York Fire Brigade in late Thursday evening. The killed were between one year and 50 years old. Four or people were fatally injured.

Fire fired a three-and-a-half-year-old boy who played around regulators at his mor's hearth, said Fire chief Daniel Nigro on Friday. The mor, boy and anor child were able to save mselves. Among dead were four or children, three girls aged one, two and seven years, and a boy whose age was not specified by authorities.

New York's Mayor Bill de Blasio said it was worst fire in city for at least 25 years. 1990 were killed in a ten-minute club away from a fire 87 people. In 2007, overheated cable of a heater also caused a fire in Bronx that killed ten people, among m nine children.

According to fire brigade, more than 160 firefighters were in operation on Thursday. They could save at least twelve people. Even hours after fire, firefighters and policemen were busy searching homes destroyed by flames and collecting clues about possible cause of fire.

According to official information, fire broke out on ground floor of four-storey residential building and quickly spread to upper floors. The fire brigade said that this tragedy was "unquestionably historical" in its size.

Some of survivors were brought to a nearby school, which served as a emergency. Residents were called to donate clos. On night of fire re were temperatures of up to minus ten degrees Celsius. Icy temperatures are also predicted for coming days and nights.
