For an Afghan, the German sexism debate sometimes seems strange. But in the end, men and women all over the world must fight for equal rights.

In last few weeks re has been a lot of talk about sexism in all media, even in time online. For me, it is something special to talk about such a subject, because I grew up in a country where talking about sexism is a taboo.

But if I get to know that my colleagues can talk so openly about sexism, it gives me courage to write about it.

Sexism is everywhere in world. But he has as many colors as rainbow. Some rainbows have bright colors, some paler. The color scheme depends on culture, religion and values of a society. How different this can be can be seen very well in Germany and Afghanistan.

Immoral touches, ambiguous winks, whistles, scornful looks – se are just some of harassment that women in Afghanistan have to endure every day in public and at work.

At home, many women suffer open violence. For example, if you are shopping in spite of a ban on your husband, or if you want to work against will of her husband. If a young woman falls in love with a man who has not been chosen by her parents, she may have to leave her home because she is orwise beaten by far or brors.

When men consider women as property

Violence against women sometimes goes so far in Afghanistan that y are mutilated, ir ears and ir nose cut off. This is happening in a country where women are systematically oppressed. If you want to work or if you want to participate actively in company. Your job is to educate children, keep house in order and cook for family. Men treat ir wives like ir property. Women cannot have ir own opinion. So y lack every sense of self-esteem and are delivered to ir men in every respect.

The Afghan organization for Democracy and Human Rights, after a research on women from men's point of view, came to conclusion that most men in Afghanistan believe that women are inferior to m. Accordingly, women should also be treated. For survey, 3,900 men were questioned in different cities in Afghanistan.
