In a Baptist church 50 miles southeast of San Antonio, a gunman has opened fire. He's supposed to have been killed after a chase.

Texas: Man shoots at least 27 people in Sutherland Springs

In a church in U.S. state of Texas, a man shot at least 27 people and injured 20 more. As Wilson County News reports, Gunners have opened fire in a Baptist church in Surland Springs east of San Antoniodas. The attack should have occurred at 11:30 a.m. local time during a devotional ceremony.

A representative of Wilson District told CNN broadcaster that several people had died. He was deeply shaken. According to CNN, perpetrator was put in a car chase by police and killed. This was confirmed by sheriff of Wilson County, JoeTackitt, without giving any details of circumstances.

According to eyewitness reports, at least 20 shots were taken in a quick order. Ors indicated that shooter had reloaded several times. According to BBC News channel, FBI is now on ground. Helicopters fly victims in hospitals, rescue workers are on site.

Surland Springs is located approximately 50 km souast of San Antonio and has 400 inhabitants. As it was said, on average 50 people come to Sunday devotion. The First Baptist Church is center of small community. A witness said Surland Springs was so small that re wasn't even a fire brigade re. Everyone knows each or, you stand very close.
