The Belgian judicial authorities want to ask deposed Catalan head of government Carles Puigdemont one more time. This was shared by Brussels Public Prosecutor's office. It was not until night on Monday that a Belgian court had Puigdemont and four of its ministers had been released under conditions. You are not allowed to leave Belgium.

Spanish authorities had previously issued a European arrest warrant. The five politicians n presented mselves on Sunday to Belgian police. A Belgian court is now to decide on an extradition within 15 days. European arrest warrants are normally enforced, but re may also be exceptions.

The hearing will take place on 17 November. The four or former ministers from Puidgemonts cabinet are also to be consulted on day. The politicians could appeal against an extradition decision so that proceedings could take place by January. In this case, according to EU rules, Belgian judiciary has a maximum of 60 days, in exceptional cases 90 days, time to decide.

Puigdemont wants to join regional election

The Spanish prosecutor's office had brought charges against Puigdemont and his former cabinet members for rebellion, turmoil and misappropriation of public funds. The reason was behaviour of regional government during independence referendum. Rebellion alone in Spain is up to 30 years imprisonment.

Eight former cabinet members are already in custody in Spain, anor cabinet member has been released for a deposit. Puigdemont and four or ministers had travelled to Belgium. The Spanish authorities had issued a European arrest warrant.

The regional parliament in Catalonia will be re-elected on 21 December. Puigdemonts Catalan European Democratic Party presented him as a top candidate. He wanted to run, shared Puigdemont with him. This was also done in a globalised world from Belgium.
