The Boston Bruins have fired veteran head coach Claude Julien, who led them to the Stanley Cup title in 2011, the team announced this morning.

The Bruins will be holding a press conference at 11:30 a.m.

Julien was in his 10th season with the Bruins.

In 2011, the Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks in seven games to clinch the Stanley Cup. Two seasons later, they advanced to the final again, only to bow out in six games against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Bruins had a 419-246-94 record with Julien behind the bench.

He’ll be replaced by assistant coach Bruce Cassidy on an interim basis.

More to come.
