Oakley was arrested and charged with three counts of assault following an altercation with MSG security during Wednesday night's game between the Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers.

The former Knicks enforcer was seated near team owner James Dolan before he was approached by security and forcefully removed for allegedly heckling Dolan, according to the team.

Oakley denied he had any interaction with Dolan and later apologized to "all the fans of the Garden."

The 53-year-old played for New York from 1988-98 and remains a popular figure with Knicks fans.

ESPN reported Friday Madison Square Garden Company fired its security chief two days after the incident.
