Falcons coaches positive about Alex Mack playing in Super Bowl

The Falcons' coaches, according to a team official, feel very positive about center Alex Mack's availability to not only play during the Super Bowl, but also function at a high level despite a fibula injury that has limited him in practice.

A pool report Thursday from Atlanta's practice, quoted coach Dan Quinn as being, "concerned," about Mack's injury. However, after watching film of the practice, Falcons' coaches felt much better about Mack's ability to perform at a high level, the official said.

Mack, who previously played for the Browns, was acquired in free agency before the season and has arguably been the top free-agent signing in the NFL. He has solidified a once shaky line, which has been a significant factor in the Falcons' emergence as the top offense in the league.

Wide receiver Julio Jones also was limited in Thursday's practice, but he has said multiple times this week that his toe injury is no longer bothering him.
