Former Bull Eddie Robinson joins Ice Cube's 3-on-3 basketball league

The BIG3 league added 10 former NBA players Tuesday, including three former Bulls.

Eddie Robinson, Keith Bogans and Mike James had stints in Chicago and have signed on to play for the eight-team three-on-three basketball league co-founded by rapper Ice Cube, the BIG3 announced. The list also includes Marcus Banks, Derrick Byars, Shane Heal, Voshon Lenard, Rashad McCants, Lee Nailon and Xavier Silas.

Robinson played three seasons with the Bulls, spanning 2001 to '04. His career is marked by high expectations when general manager Jerry Krause brought him in as a promising backup from Charlotte to a falling out over work ethic with Krause's successor, John Paxson.

Bogans counted Derrick Rose among his supporters in Chicago, though the shooting guard averaged 4.4 points in his one season for the Bulls in 2010-11. The scrappy James played for the Bulls in 2011-12 and had a return engagement in 2013-14 at 38 years old.

The eight BIG3 teams will play four games in one of 10 cities each week during the summer. A league spokesman said Tuesday it hadn't been determined whether Chicago will be one of the cities on the schedule.
