UCONN looks past 100: As faux $100 bills adorned with coach Geno Auriemma's face rained down on the sellout crowd at UConn after the team's 100th consecutive win Monday night, the Hall of Fame coach waxed poetic about the Huskies' past and present.

It's the future though, that he's most interested in.

With 100 straight victories in the books, Auriemma and his top-ranked Huskies can turn their attention to the more important streak — a fifth consecutive national championship and 12th overall.

"They carried the torch across the finish line to 100 so to speak, they took the last baton and crossed the finish line," Auriemma said after the 66-55 win over No. 6 South Carolina. "If we win the national championship it is all theirs start to finish. I want to focus on trying to do that instead of worrying about all this other stuff. Don't get me wrong, it is a lot of fun, everybody gets a kick out of it, our players, our former players, the fans so I think that is great."

UConn is still short of the overall college basketball record for consecutive wins. The Wayland Baptist women's basketball team won 131 straight from 1953-58. It wasn't the NCAA back then, it was the AAU.

"They are opportunistic," South Carolina coach Dawn Staley said. "They wait for you to make the mistakes and don't foul a whole lot. You have to execute it for 40 minutes."

The game drew the highest overnight rating on ESPN2 for any college basketball game this season — men's or women's — on that network. It was the highest-rated women's college basketball regular-season game since 2010.

UCF 66, NO. 22 USF 62: Strawberry Crest High alumnus Aliyah Gregory scored a career-high 34 as the Knights (16-9, 6-6 American) pulled off the upset of the Bulls (20-5, 9-3) before a Sun Dome crowd of 1,884. Gregory's free throw with 13.3 seconds left provided the final margin. USF had won 19 straight in the series.

KANSAS STATE: Collin Klein, a 2012 Heisman finalist as the Wildcats quarterback, was named QB coach after spending last season in the same role at Northern Iowa.

PITTSBURGH: Charlie Partridge, fired as FAU coach on Nov. 27, was named Panthers defensive line coach.
