Jered Weaver's 11-year career with the Angels came to an official end Saturday when the veteran right-hander agreed to terms on a one-year with the San Diego Padres. Weaver's deal, reportedly worth $3 million, is pending a physical.

The Angels apparently never seriously engaged Weaver about a return in 2017, following a season in which he posted a career-worst 5.06 ERA. Weaver still led the Angels with 178 innings, ironically proving to be the most durable in a rotation that was decimated by injuries.

For his career, Weaver went 150-93 with a 3.55 ERA for the Angels, the second most victories in franchise history, behind Chuck Finley's 165.

Before the news of Weaver's deal, Mike Trout said it was going to be difficult without Weaver as a fixture in the clubhouse.

"It's going to be tough," Trout said. "He's one of those guys you can't replace. I talked to him a lot this offseason... When I got here, he was here. And now coming into this clubhouse and locker room, it's quiet, it's different not seeing Weaver when you walk in. Just one of those guys that, great teammate and off the field, you could do anything with him. We could go to dinner, he always treated. He was professional as it gets."
