"Fates Zero is one of the leading Vainglory teams in North America, and we're happy to see them continue to compete at the highest level under an established esports organization like Team Misfits," Kristian Segerstrale, CEO of "Vainglory" developer Super Evil Megacorp, said in a statement.
Alexander "Eeko" Mier, Emmanuel "IllesT" Miguel and Stephan "Exhail" Nalbandyan will represent Misfits in Vainglory.
"We are excited to enter Vainglory, the leading mobile esport," Misfits CEO and co-founder Ben Spoont and Miami Heat executive Michael McCullough said in a joint statement. "What attracted us to it was not only being on the frontier of mobile esports, but having the ability to closely work together with a forward-thinking game developer to really create a sustainable ecosystem for all stakeholders from the beginning."
Vainglory is a massive online battle arena similar to League of Legends or DotA 2. Instead of two teams of five going at it on gaming PCs, though, Vainglory features two teams of three battling it out on mobile phones.
Misfits will be the sixth major team to add competitive Vainglory this month alone. Earlier in February, Super Evil Megacorp revealed that Fnatic, Echo Fox, NRG, Rogue and Immortals would all be competing this season. Team SoloMid, Cloud9, G2 Esports, SK Gaming, Team Secret, mousesports, and DetonatioN Gaming already have Vainglory squads.
The full Vainglory season is set to tip off March 11.
