With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, it should come as little surprise that several mock draft projections have the Eagles bolstering the offensive arsenal around quarterback Carson Wentz.

While some projections have Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams sliding to the Eagles with either the No. 14 or No. 15 overall pick in the first round, others have executive vice president Howie Roseman and Co. investing a first-round choice in Western Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis. 

In Rob Rang's latest mock draft for CBS Sports, the Eagles pluck Davis with the No. 15 overall pick: 

Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan: Despite plenty of draft picks invested in the position, the Eagles lack a go-to target in the passing game to aid the development of Carson Wentz. Starring in the MAC rather than a Power 5 conference, Davis does not get the attention he deserves but he's a polished route-runner with an ideal combination of size (6-3, 213) with 4.4 speed.

In 2016 his final collegiate season, Davis set career highs with 97 receptions for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. 

It is no secret that wide receiver is a position of need for the Eagles both heading into free agency and the NFL Draft. In 2015 the Eagles receivers led the league in dropped passes and showed little improvement last season. 

Davis will not be running at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis after suffering a minor ankle injury and undergoing surgery. While Davis' injury is not severe, it could help push him down the draft board into a range where the Eagles could realistically choose him.
