Portland Timbers announce broadcast details for 2017 season

The Portland Timbers have 

signed television and radio broadcasters Jake Zivin and Ross Smith to multi-year contract extensions and added former defender Nat Borchers to the broadcast team.

All 34 of the Timbers regular season games will be broadcast live both on television and radio and at least 14 games will be nationally televised. ROOT SPORTS and KPTV FOX 12 will air the Timbers regional television broadcasts once again this season.

Zivin and Smith will continue to call the games for the Timbers, with Zivin continuing his role as play-by-play announcer and Smith continuing as the color analyst. 

Team sideline reporter Samantha Yarock returns to the broadcast team for her third season, while Borchers joins the team to provide on-field analysis during Timbers home games.

ROOT SPORTS will broadcast 11 matches, while nine games will be features on FOX 12 (KPTV). The Timbers 14 nationally televised games will be shown on either FOX, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2 or Unimas.

750 AM/102.9 FM The Game (KXTG) and La GranD (KGDD) will continue to broadcast Timbers games on the radio in English and Spanish respectively. respectively. Play-by-play announcer Keith Bleyer and analyst Brett Jacobs will call games on KXTG, while Fletcher Johnson will host the pregame, halftime and postgame radio shows.
