Former Washington wide receiver John Ross, considered by most NFL draft analysts to be a surefire first-round pick this spring, will reportedly undergo shoulder surgery to repair an injured labrum.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline reported Friday that Ross, 22, initially suffered the injury in the Huskies' win over Stanford on Sept. 30. He plans on participating in next months's NFL scouting combine in March and will work out privately for teams the week following the combine before having surgery.

Pauline reported Ross is expected to be ready to participate in training camp in August.

Ross came back from knee injuries that cost him the entire 2015 season to catch 17 touchdown passes, which tied Mario Bailey's school record and earned Ross him second-team AP All-America honors. The Long Beach, California native also returned a school-record four kick returns for touchdowns.

Ross finished UW college career with 114 receptions for 1,729 yards and 22 touchdowns, which tied him with former first-round pick Reggie Williams for third in school history behind Jermaine Kearse and Bailey.
