TAMPA -- One of the most recognizable Yankees players in their spring training camp is their only redhead.

Actually, prized outfielder prospect Clint Frazier has fiery orange hair ... and he's still easy to spot even though his wavy locks aren't quite as long as they were during the offseason.

Frazier, who joined the Yankees organization last Aug. 1 in a deal that sent All-Star reliever Andrew Miller to the Cleveland Indians, admits loving his hair. Frazier even told NJ Advance Media in a video last week that he wants to keep it as long as the Yankees allow and the way it is now is fine by Yankees manager Joe Girardi.

Girardi was asked about Frazier's hair after Sunday's spring training practice and, in part, commented, "This is the person that God made him. ... There's a lot of people in that clubhouse that wish they had his hair."

Girardi was asked a follow-up question on the Yankees' long-standing appearance policy: No hair past the shirt collar and no beards.

"It's a rule that the (Steinbrenner) family has carried on from their father," Girardi said. "I know some players like facial hair and would prefer it, but in the long run and reality, does it change the player if he has a beard or not? I wouldn't really think so."
