Teen violates protection from abuse order, resists arrest, cops say

An Easton teen is jailed after allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order and then fighting off police officers to avoid arrest.

Charged is Raekwon Washington, 18, of the first block of Freedom Terrace.

City officers at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Washington Street for a report of a fight between a male and female. Washington allegedly provided police with a phony identification.

The female victim told investigators Washington's true identity and that she had a protection-from-abuse order against him. Washington resisted arrest by swinging his arms, kicking his legs, twisting his body and pushing away officers, police said.

Officers searched Washington and seized nine bags of marijuana, another bag partially full of marijuana and 28 empty plastic bags, according to police.

Washington is charged with resisting arrest, providing false identification to law enforcement and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora, who set bail at $10,000.

In lieu of bail, Washington was taken to Northampton County Prison.
