All Hudson County offices closed today, Feb. 9, because of storm

All Hudson County offices are closed today because of Winter Storm Niko, which is expected to dump anywhere from 5 to 8 inches on the county.

The county had planned on a delayed opening today, but because of the heavy snow and high winds, decided to close for the entire day. Only emergency and essential workers should report to work, officials said.

The State of the County Address and the Board of Chosen Freeholders meeting, both scheduled for tonight, have been postponed. A new date for the State of the County address has not been announced.

The state courts in Hudson County are also closed today, state officials announced. All public schools in Hudson County are also shuttered today.

Hoboken officials are reminding driver that vehicles parked on emergency snow routes are subject to ticketing and towing when the streets are snow-covered. Enforcement of alternate side parking (street cleaning) regulations will be suspended on Thursday and Friday while crews conduct snow removal operations. Street cleaning enforcement will resume on Monday, Feb.13.
