Alter Enersun and Alterna Energía develop a battery hybridization system in two solar plants

MADRID, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Alter Enersun, together with its subsidiary Alterna Energía, a company specialized in the development of comprehensive solutions for self-consumption photovoltaic installations for companies and in turnkey projects in storage, is carrying out an expansion of two plants in Extremadura with a hybridization system of photovoltaic storage batteries.

Specifically, an expansion of one megawatt (MW) will be carried out for each of the 'Cáceres 2020' (51 MWp) and 'Cáceres 2021' (53 MWp) plants, incorporating this novelty in the process, the company reported.

Thus, each of the extensions will also have electrical storage (batteries). 2.03 megawatt hours (MWh) and 4.06 (MWh) respectively have been installed, with low voltage AC coupling.

With this project, Alterna Energía pointed out that it is positioned "as one of the first companies in Spain and in Europe" to carry out the installation and integration of this specific battery hybridization system in 'utility scale' plants, that is, in projects of large scale and high investment.

In the same way, Alter Enersun also became one of the first companies to invest and own hybridization plants in Spain.

Each one of the energy storage systems of each plant has five converters with a maximum unit active power of 200 kW, with a total of 1,000 kW.

In addition, both the batteries and the converters will be governed by an intelligent controller (smart array controller) that will give the instructions for the storage or discharge of the batteries depending on the park's generation, and will be connected to the control center of each one. of the plants.
